Letter from a satisfied owner of a Pritchard Amps, Black Dagger 1-12 Tunnel Back™

February 2, 2006

Dear Eric,

Every guitarist that's seen me at a show has asked about it. They're always amazed at the sound and the amount of volume coming out of such a tiny little amp!

I'm still in love with it of course. The fact is there's not a single test it hasn't passed, nor an obstacle it hasn't overcome. When we played a really large 2000 person venue for our Atlantis showcase last August I planned on using my Mesa in addition to the Pritchard because I was pretty concerned about getting enough volume in a room that large. In any event, the studio I had the Mesa on loan to, brought it back to me the day of the show with all of the tubes blown and I had no replacements. At first I was worried, but when I thought about it a bit my worries went away. After all, the amp [Pritchard] had handled everything I'd thrown at it so far, so I was still feeling fairly confident...

And the moment of truth arrived - we started loading our gear at the venue and I backlined the Pritchard on the stage beside all of the full stacks. All of the other bands that night had two guitarists, and all with full stacks. And I can honestly say that the Pritchard was the loudest and most defined amp on the stage! The show was taped so we were able to watch the video footage of the show afterwards. The other bands with the walls of guitar amps had no definition to their sound, and the guitars sounded like mud. During our set the Pritchard came through loud and clear - you could hear every note! Even I (already being quite familiar with the amazing properties of the amp) was really impressed. There's just NOTHING this amp can't do!!

And I still get a kick out of the guitarists in other bands we play with that laugh when they see me setting the little amp up on the stage next to their stacks. This still happens at just about every show, and at the end of the night they always ask "what the heck IS that thing?!?" - and then I'm the one laughing ;)

Take care,

Lance Hoskins
